Motherland Tour 2012 Bursary Program

The KCCA Executive is announcing a trial program to support first time Motherland tour visits to Korea for Ontario-based adopted Korean children of KCCA participating member families. Grants of $1000 will be available for each eligible Korean adoptee travelling on a paid Motherland tour to Korea in 2012 accompanied by at least one adoptive parent . Financial support will also be made available to for adopted Korean siblings of eligible adoptees, who otherwise would be eligible but for the fact they have previously visited Korea on a Motherland tour, if they accompany their eligible sibling on the Motherland tour in 2012.

After you have confirmed your eligibility and interest in the program, you can complete the
Application for Motherland Tour Bursary.

Korea Motherland Tour for Families

When: July 2, 2012 to July 9, 2012

The Children's Bridge is pleased to announce the Korea Motherland Tour for Families which begins in Seoul Korea on July 2, 2012 to July 9, 2012.  There are also optional excursions offered after July 9 should you decide to stay on and take one.  This tour is offered by B.B. Park / Bridge Travel Ltd., in Seoul, Korea.  Bridge Travel ( www.bridge-tour.com ) has organized and offered tours for many other US agencies over the past few years and was recommended by.SWS for their extensive experience.

Korea Trip for Overseas Adult Korean Adoptees

When: June 18-30, 2012

Jinheung Moonwha has announced its motherland tour program for 2012 (they refer to it as Journey 2012). The dates are June 18-30, 2012. The purpose of the program is to provide an opportunity for overseas adult Korean adoptees to learn about and appreciate Korean culture and traditions and to foster pride in Korean heritage. Adopted Koreans aged 18-40 are invited to apply. Detailed information is available at website: http://1004calendar.com. Preference is given to those who have not visited Korea previousy (since their adoption). .

Jinheung has hosted motherland tour programs annually since l996, on some ocassions for adoptive families with young children. We hope they will consider including families again with their program in 2013.

 

Free Taekwon-do Martial Arts classes are available for adoptive families

KoRoot guest house for adoptees visiting Korea

KoRoot is basically founded to resolve the challenges that the prospective returnees face, providing them with accomodation and assistance to ease them into Korean society, and to help them enjoy their visit by conducting a number of special events and having necessary resources available during their stay in Korea.

KCCA Scholarship

The JOHN LIM SCHOLARSHIP
The John Lim Scholarship was created by the Korean Canadian Children’s Association (KCCA). Scholarships will be given to students who were adopted from Korea into Canada and are selected on, a competitive basis, from a pool of eligible applicants pursuing post-secondary studies
